Fourth Parliament of the province of Canada
The Quatrième legislative Assemblée of the province of Canada sat of 1852 until June 1854. The elections took place in October 1851. The sessions were held with Quebec with the Canada-Is. Dissolution was announced on June 23rd, 1854. The speaker (president) was John Sandfield Macdonald, appointed of Glengarry.
This legislature adopted a certain number of important laws, in particular:

the abolition of the tenure seigneuriale with the Canada-Is ( Loi on the abolition of the rights and duties feudal in Low-Canada ).
- the cutting of the territory in 130 counties, 65 in each part is and western of Canada, which were used as electoral districts starting from the following election.

- First: from August 19th to November 10th, 1852.
- Second: from February 14th to June 14th, 1853.
- Third: from June 13rd to 22nd 1854.
