In the work of J.R.R. Tolkien, the Fourth Age is one of the periods of the history of Ground of the Medium (which constitutes, with the First Age, the Second Age and the Third Age, the Années of the Sun during which appeared the Men). He is regarded as the Age of the domination of the Men on Arda following that of the Elfes.

He would have begun either on March 25th or on September 29th from year 3021 of the Third Age (i.e. two years after the fall of Sauron). It is considered that year 1 of the Fourth Age corresponds to year 3022 of the preceding age (namely the year 1422 according to the Calendar of the Comté). One knows only little thing over this period of Arda except some dates.
