History

The principal historical general information is the following ones:

* Roman presence. * The ground was given to 11th to the abbey of Courtyards. * The hamlet of Lilletot was attached to him in 1843.

The communes of Fourmetot and Lilletot were joined together on July 22nd l843 to form only the single commune of Fourmetot with its hamlets called " Chouquet" , " Barre" , " The Thomas" Hamlet; , " Hamel" … One found in 1833,2 innkeepers, 1 grocer, 1 shoe-maker, 2 marshals, 3 tisserands, 4 masons, 6 carpenters, 3 carpenters, 4 roofers, 3 cartwrights and 12 beggars…

Principal monuments: - The NOTRE-DAME CHURCH: end of the 12th century, it offers a mixture of novel and Gothic (Romance tower). They were the Dukes of Normandy and, after them, the Kings of France who had the patronage of the church of Fourmetot. - CASTLE OF the HAMEL (16th century) - MANOR OF CROSSED WITH PARK - PORCH on V.C.ll 17th century (l640) - FIRM Of the EPINAY (11th century) - SAINT-ANDREW CHURCH OF LILLETOT. This name meant " small mesure". A fort beautiful grid of wrought iron entry with armorial bearings with the pediment (16th century) was in the vicinity. - HOUSE OF the BREAD - baker's oven still in activities in 2004
