Fourchambault is a common French, located in the department of the Nievre and the area Burgundy.

Its inhabitants is called Fourchambaultais or Fourchamballais.

Alexandre Breffort , journalist, scenario writer, man of theater and French writer, born on November 22nd, 1901 with Fourchambault, deceased on February 22nd, 1972 in Paris. Collaborator of the Canard Enchaîné, famous for his witty remarks, he is the author of the musical comedy " Irma soft the " , based on its part " The herrings terribles". Carried by the music of Marguerite Monnot , " Irma the douce" met an international success, while being played in particular with Broadway and thanks to the film éponyme of Billy Wilder.
