Four pillars of the green parties

The four pillars of the green left, left ecologists are:

The original terms (German) are ökologisch , sozial , basisdemokratisch , gewaltfrei .
The terms used in English are ecological Wisdom , Social Justice , Grassroots Democracy , and Nonviolence .

That in the beginning was defined by the European green parties, of which the Grünen in 1979-1980, then adopted by other parties. It should be noted significant differences between the terms used according to the languages.

Ultérieureurement, the 4 pillars were extended by the Green Party (the United States) and that of Canada to the 10 values of the green party:

  2. Decentralization via bearable agriculture, the country Agriculture
  3. ecological Wisdom, putting an end to the human sources of extinction, promoting the ecological Integrity
  4. Feminism and equity enters the kinds

  6. Non-violence
  7. Personal liabilities and total democracy ex by the purchase responsible, the voluntary Simplicité
  8. Respect for diversity, the Biodiversité and the Cultural diversity
  9. Social justice
  10. the soutenability, the Sustainable development

  • Decentralization, e.g via Bioregional democracy, Sustainable agriculture, regional Transmission grid S
  • Ecological Wisdom, e.g ending human-caused extinction, promoting Ecological health

    These four pillars are generally considered interdependent, being reinforced the ones the others. They come from the concerns of the pacifist movement and the movement ecologist.

    The 4 pillars and the 10 values ended in a Charte of the world Greens, signed with Canberra, defining 6 key principles. This charter defines the common principles of all the world Greens. The majority of the movements ecologists follow the major part of these principles, but not totality.
