The Fondation of the Hermitage is a museum devoted to the Art schools, located at Lausanne in Suisse.
It is sheltered by a house of Master located on the tops of the city, built in 1850 by the banker lausannois Charle-Juste Bugnion. In 1976, the Bugnion family makes gift of this house to the town of Lausanne. A foundation is also created to restore, maintain and make known the building, and to organize exposures there. The first exposure, devoted to the Impressionism in the French collections , opens its doors in June 1984.
The Foundation also has a collection of some 800 works, which is not exposed in a permanent way, but presented regularly to the public during exposures.
