Born in 1969 from the idea to create an organization private and independent which would help to concretize projects in philanthropic matter , educational, scientific, social or cultural, the Foundation of France has the role to help the people in difficulty by supporting concrete plans and innovating, which unceasingly meet the requirements in evolution for the company.
It acts thus in all the fields of the General interest: solidarity, childhood, Health, Medical research, Culture, Environment. Reconnue public utility, this organization private and independent does not receive any public allocation and cannot distribute its prices, purses and subsidies that thanks to the generosity of its givers (506 000 in 2006).
The Foundation of France also shelters foundations created by patrons and advises them in their step. At December 31st, 2006, the number of the foundations acting under the aegis of the Foundation of France was of 592, including 57 created by companies, 429 with equipment and 163 without equipment.
To promote its action near the public and to enable him to call upon the gift in confidence, association adheres to the Comité of the Charter.
