The Fondation for the innovation Politique is a Think tank political French of center-right, become operational in 2004.
Today independent, it was founded by Jerome Monod, adviser of Jacques Chirac, President of the Republic and was financed at the origin by the UMP, which contributed up to 17% of its budget in 2004. The Foundation is financed today, following the example other foundations of political sciences, by public funds and the gifts of companies.
It has in particular with its credit the launching of the World French-speaking Numerical Université (UNFM) which aims at developing the Télé teaching in the French-speaking Pays S of the south from the point of view of development. Co-founded by the astrophysicist with NASA Cheick Modibo Diarra, the purpose of the UNFM is to solve the Objectifs millenium that was fixed the African continent, by forming the agents of the development (Infirmier S, midwife, Assistance-looking after S, but also teachers, etc). At the end of its first year of existence, it lays out of three sites in French-speaking Africa (Bamako in Mali, Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, Brazzaville in Republic of Congo) and the recent support of the numerical Solidarity funds should allow the opening of new sites for the year 2006-2007.
The Foundation for the political innovation is currently directed by Franck Debié (Managing director), an academic responsible in addition for the Center of géostratégie of the National university. Its Board of trustees is chaired today by Jean-Claude Paye. It is based on a network of advisers to make live its ideas, specialists recognized in their field or actors of the Civil society.
