Fouleix is a common French, located in the department of the the Dordogne and the area Aquitaine.

Geography

Commune almost located at the center of the Dordogne, 35km of Périgueux and about thirty kilometers of Bergerac. With 1:20 of Bordeaux, by taking the highway with Mussidant (30km)

History

Commune, with last very rich (of the precise details will be brought later on) It is composed of a municipal council, rather active, of a festival committee, and a friendly layman occupying themselves with spirit, of its elementary school. This school is in regrouping with the neighbouring communes, such as, St Amand-of-Vergt, Saint Michel of Villadex and Saint Laurent of the Sticks. These communes fought for this regrouping and continue to defend their schools which theirs are expensive, in order not to plunge in the field of the communes, given up, and empty. Me former student of this regrouping and living since always this commune which is Fouleix, I am very proud to represent our colors, by this small article. When I would not be any more coed and as soon as I could it, I would take again the torch, of the festival committee to make of Fouleix a marvellous commune, with animations, and spectacles, which will give to this commune a heart a little more pleasant. Thanks to the new village hall, which has just been realized, Fouleix, lives again already a little more…. The commune is mainly agricultural, with milch cows, cows with meats, but also of the fatty duck, thanks to which one can eat excellent foie gras!

Personalities related to the commune

The first secretary of the ministry for agriculture, hunting and fishing, has a house in the borough of the commune, and is interested of very close with the sometimes difficult work conditions of the farmers, while returning visit with the peasants of Fouleix.
