Fouad Mebazaâ

Fouad Mebazaâ , born the June 16th 1933, is a politician Tunisia N. Member of the Political office of the Constitutional Democratic Assembly, he is president of the House of Commons since the October 14th 1997.

Mebazaâ follows studies of Droit and economy to Paris.

He becomes Minister for youth and the sports the November 30th 1973 then, the September 13rd 1978, Minister for the public health. The November 7th 1979, it is named Minister for the cultural affairs and information. It preserves the first wallet to the January 2nd 1981 and the second until the December 3rd 1980. The October 27th 1987, it returns to the government with the wallet of youth and the sports within the government of the Prime Minister Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali. It preserves this station after the Coup d'etat of the November 7th 1987.

He is also ambassador of Tunisia near the the United Nations before being elected with the head of the House of Commons. This station makes of it the constitutional successor of president Ben Ali in the event of vacancy of the presidency. At the municipal level, he is elected as mayor of Tunis (1969 - 1973) then of Carthage (1995 - 1998).
