Forza Italia

Forza Italia is a Italian Political party which was created in 1994 by Silvio Berlusconi. It is anchored to the center-right and fact part of the Pôle of freedoms and the Maison of freedoms (in Italian, delle Libertà Put it).

It obtained 6.837.748 votes (21,0%) at the time of the last elections to the the European Parliament, that is to say 16 appointed (on 78) whereas it had obtained 7.624.829 votes (25,2%) in June 1999 with the same elections (and 22 deputies out of 87).

At the time of the Italian legislative elections of 2006, although having lost approximately 6 points with the House of Commons (compared to the legislative elections of 2001), this party obtains 23,7% of the voices (that is to say 9 million voters) to the Room, just behind Olivier, and almost the same score of 24% with the Senate (8,2 Mr. of voice). It includes/understands 140 deputies (- 28, including the elected officials abroad) and 79 senators (+ 3).

Previously, Forza Italia laid out, until 2005, of 76 Senator S with the Senato della Repubblica and of 173 Député S (on 178 elected officials in 2001) with the Camera dei deputati.

It does not control any more that three areas (out of 20) since the regional elections of April 2005 (the Lombardy, the Venezia and the Sicily, as well as small the Molise where the election was started again in 2001).

Its leader is favorable to the creation of a Sole party of moderate which would join together the parties combined within the Maison of freedoms. The first congress of this party should have met in the summer 2005. Its name suggested: left freedom .

With the autumn 2007, the dissolution of the party was orchestrated by Silvio Berlusconi, fascinating act of the last failures, as well from the electoral point of view after the arrival of the Prodi government as of that of the Italian divergences of the parties of the right-hand side. The disappearance of Forza Italia will see the official creation of the " Party of the libertés" (Partito delle libertà), intended to gather the various currents of the opposition and to secure a majority from the right at the time of the future elections. However, at the end of November, the Christian democrats of the UDC (Unione dei Demonstration-Cristiani) and the separatists of the League of North (Northern Lega LED, old League lombarde) did not wish to join Berlusconi.
