Forza Bastia 78 or the island celebrates , is a French short-measuring carried out by Jacques Tati and Sophie Tatischeff in 1978.
It is at the request of Gilbert Trigano, president of the Bastian club of football, that Jacques Tati, impassioned since always of sport, carries out this documentary around an event of size: indeed, in April 1978, the local team is opposed to the club of Eindhoven on the ground of Furiani, at the time of the match outward journey of the finale of the cut of Europe of football.
It is Sophie Tatischeff, girl of Jacques Tati, monteuse and itself director, who will ensure the assembly of the forgotten rushes, and discovered years later with the regional cineclub of Corsica.
