The Forum on the governorship of the Internet was created according to the directives established by the Diary of Tunis, Paragraphe 72. It is agreed that the purpose of this new forum will be to engage the multiple recipients in a dialog on the Gouvernance of the Internet.

The first Forum on the governorship of the Internet took seat with Athens from October 30th to November 2nd, 2006. This forum was convened following the request of the participants of the second World summit on the company of information of Tunis in 2005.

The direction and the financing of the organization are under the supervision of the the United Nations but is not intended to have function of control nor would not replace mechanisms, institutions or organizations already existing making forum a neutral mechanism.

Power of attorney (summary)

1. the overall public policy at the local level and intergovernmental in relation to the governorship of the Internet and the Neutrality of the networks.

2. the use of competences of the university, scientific and technical parts.
3. the reduction of the Digital divide and the widening of the possibilities of access to the Internet in the Developing country.
4. the use of the principles of SMSI
5. publication of its work.
