Fortune is a Personnage of video game in the series Metal GEAR . It makes its appearance in the play Metal GEAR Solid 2: Sounds off Liberty . Then with the head of the Dead Concealment, it seems equipped with a great chance to the combat since no projectile can reach it.

History

Of its true name Helena Dolph Jackson , Fortune is the girl of Scott Dolph and the woman of the Commander Jackson, leader original of the Dead Cell.

In a few months, Fortune lost its whole family. At the time of the incident of the Tanker in 2007, his/her father Scott Dolph is killed. A few months later, her husband is marked wrongly of and jeté embezzlement in prison. The mother of Fortune commits suicide then before her husband does not make any in the same way shortly after. Lastly, upset by all these events, Fortune which pregnant was made a miscarriage and loses his/her child.

Fortune then learns that the person in charge of died of its father is not other than Solid Snake, that which would have been at the origin of the diversion of the Tanker of the Marines (what is false, but it is what the Patriotes made accept the whole world).

Filled up hatred and having lost all it in what she believed, Fortune then decides to begin in the army. It is at this time that it realizes that the balls, nor no other projectile Létale can reach it. This mysterious capacity is worth to him the name of “ Lady Luck ” (in French, “Lady chance”).

It is then assigned with the unit of her late husband, the Dead Cell, in which it is integrated quickly and tied strong bonds in particular with Vamp. It takes the code name of Fortune then and quickly becomes chief of the unit.

From now on, Fortune lives only with an aim of finding the soldier who will be able to kill it.

Incident of Big Shell

April 29th 2009, Fortune as well as the remaining members of the Dead Cell (Vamp and Fatman) agree to join Solidus Snake and the “Sons off Liberty” (in French, “Wire of Freedom”) in its fight against the Patriotes and take assault Big Shell, which shelters the Arsenal GEAR.

Fortune faces there initially Raiden then later Solid Snake in person, which she believes always responsible for dead for her father. It makes it captive then joined the other terrorists on the roof of the Arsenal GEAR.

At this point in time Revolver Ocelot reveals that all the events relating to the catch of attack of Big Shell were nothing more than one simulation of the incident of Shadow Moses and than the role of each “protagonist” had been written not the Patriots. Thus, Ocelot explains to Fortune why the death of the members of its family had been planned.

Under the shock of this revelation, Fortune then points its weapon on Ocelot but this one draws to him above in first… and the ball penetrates in the chest of Fortune!

In front of the incomprehension of the latter which no ball had never been able to reach, Ocelot explains to him why it owes its chance only with one ultra apparatus sophisticated creative of magnetic fields surrounding its body, that the Patriots placed on it since the beginning.

Wounded by the shooting of Ocelot, Fortune manages nevertheless to be rectified in front of the astonishment of this last which believed to have touched it in the middle, forgetting that Fortune was reached of Dextrocardie.

She manages to draw on Ocelot but the ball passes to side (it has the same apparatus which protected Fortune until now).

Finally, at the time when Ocelot seizes the Metal GEAR Ray and launches missiles on Solidus, Raiden, Snake and Fortune, the latter in extreme cases of dead is raised and managed to make deviate the missiles, saving everyone. It collapses then and dies of its wound.

This last event which makes say to Snake that Fortune deserves well its nickname of “Luck Lady” is in fact anything else only one act of the Patriots who temporarily gave again his “capacities” with Fortune because the Plan S3 was not finished (Solidus having to be killed by Raiden), as opposed to what Ocelot believed.
