Monseigneur Fortunato Baldelli , born with Valfabbrica close to Perugia, the August 6th 1935, titular Archbishop of Bevagna, in Italy, is current the Apostolic nuncio in France since June 1999, succeeding Mgr Mario Tagliaferri, which is deceased on May 21st, 1999.

It was ordered priest the March 18th 1961. It is graduate in canonical Droit. Entered with the service of the diplomacy of the Holy Seat in 1966, it worked with Cuba and in Egypt. Then, after some time with the Chancery of State and the Council of the Public affairs of the Church, he worked with the the Council of Europe with Strasbourg, like Special correspondent with a function of Permanent Observer of the Holy See.

He in addition was Apostolic Délégué in Angola (1983-1991), Pro-Nonce Apostolic with Sao Divide into volumes-and-Principle, Apostolic nuncio in the Dominican Republic then with the Peru.

He was named Apostolic nuncio in France the June 19th 1999.

Mgr Baldelli speaks French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
