Forssa is a city south of the Finland, in the area of the Kanta-Häme.
It is the town of birth of the type-setter Kalevi Aho.
It counts a great number of small industries. Most known are a printing works, two factories agro-alimentary and a glassmaking belonging to Saint-Gobain - Isover. The city has an industrial tradition since the investments of Axel Wilhelm Wahren, big boss of the middle of the 19th century. Rise accelerated with the arrival of the railway in 1898.
It constitutes an important road crossroads. Indeed, it is there that cross two important main roads, the n°2 connecting Pori to Helsinki and the n°10 between Turku and Tuulos via Hämeenlinna.
The close municipalities are Tammela in the east and the south, Jokioinen in the west, Humppila in the North-West and finally Urjala in north (Pirkanmaa).
