EADS Astrium Satellites (in the past EADS Astrium ) is a European company specialized in the Conception and the satellite manufacture of , of Avionique, the equipment for the systems of civil and military Télécommunication S, the observation of the Ground and the programs scientific and of navigation.
EADS Astrium Satellites is a subsidiary company with 100% of EADS Astrium, itself subsidiary to 100% of EADS.
History and presentation
EADS Astrium was created in May 2000, following the fusion of the companies Matra Marconi Space (France/the United Kingdom), the division space of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (Germany) and Computadores Redes E Ingenerio SA (Spain).
At the end of 2003, EADS Astrium employed 6.092 people in 4 countries (per order of importance of many paid: France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain), for a Turnover of 1,3 billion Euro.
EADS Astrium Co-is directed by Antoine Bouvier and Louis Gallois.
At July 1st 2006, French subsidiary company EADS Astrium SAS was absorbed by another subsidiary company of group EADS: EADS Space Transportation. The new business is called ASTRIUM SAS. Equivalent fusions were carried out in the other European subsidiary companies.

Astrium Satellites takes part in the development of Galileo, the Système of positioning of the European Union.
