Former Austria
The former Austria indicates old historical and geographical spaces, possessions of Habsbourg in the west of the Arlberg.
A part as of these possessions were even located beyond the the Rhine, such as for example Ensisheim, which was for a long time (as from 1431) the capital of former Austria. The Sundgau formed also part of former Austria. In Germany for example, the towns of Schramberg (the Herrschaft Schramberg) and of Rottweil belonged to former Austria.
