The forest of Meudon is located in the Hauts-de-Seine (France), on the communes of Chaville, Clamart and Meudon. It is prolonged in Yvelines on the communes of Vélizy and Viroflay.

Of a surface of a little more than 1100 hectares, it is mainly made up of Châtaignier S and of Chêne S. It shelters the Menhir of Pierre to the Monks, classified historic building in 1896.

Vaster forest of the Hauts-de-Seine, it is remarkable by its escarpé relief and its many ponds. Its tops dominate the the Seine of more than 150 meters, vegetation excluded, which means that certain summits of trees rise with nearly 200 meters above the river, constituting a vegetable barrier in the west of the French capital. The television relay station, which serves all the western suburbs, culminates with 280 meters of altitude. It is visible of Montmartre with Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines.

The forest of Meudon comprises relatively wild pieces. It is separate into two by the fast track N118 which transpierces it right through.

The named road the " Paving stone of Gardes" , true " road of montagne" , directly connects the valley of the Ru of Marivel to that of the Seine and constitutes the fastest route from Paris to Versailles. It was borrowed by the royal armies to connect the two capitals of France of the Ancien Mode, from where its name. The royal family, as for it, followed the bottom of the valley of the Ru of Marivel.
