A foreland or tectonic foreland indicates the zone of service road of a whole of regular lines of Transport starting from a port or of a Aéroport. In Geography, it more precisely indicates the zone of influence and the economic relations of a port with territories located beyond the seas.

The importance of the foreland closely related to the capacities of reception of a port (infrastructure and services) like on is extended from sound back-country.
