The football world cup of 2014 is the twentieth edition of the Football world cup, competition organized by the FIFA and which brings together best the male national teams. Its final stage will take place at the summer 2014 with the Brésil, only applicant country of this continent.

The March 7th 2003, FIFA announced that the world cup would be organized in South America for the first time since the Argentine in 1978, in agreement with its new policy who wants that the organization of the final stage of the cut turns through the various confederations. (thus continuing on the impetus of the last competitions, Asia in 2002 with Japan and South Korea, Europe in 2006 with Germany and soon in Africa in 2010 with South Africa).

The March 17th of the same year, the various federations of CONMEBOL adopted like one applicant of the zone Brazil, and this unanimously. Brazil deposits its official candidature on July 31st, 2007. The final decision was returned on October 30th 2007 The July 16th 2006, Colombia stood as candidate and the April 11th 2007, it withdraws its candidature because of the many supports for the Brazilian candidature.

The October 30th 2007, the Brésil is indicated without surprised country host of the World cup 2014. It will be about the second world cup organized in this country after that of 1950.
