The club is chaired by Bertrand Benoit and is pulled by Frederic Arpinon. It is the 2nd French club after the Olympique Lyonese with being quoted on the stock exchange (source: HTTP: /fr.sports.yahoo.com/17062007/53/foot-nat-istres-bientot-en-bourse.html). By decision of DNCG, the club preserves its professional statute for the season 2007-2008.
The good memories of the rise in L1 seem quite remote for the club of Provence. Incompetent to find a good level and to keep a stability, the FC Istres enlise at the point to descend itself in National to resulting from season 2006/2007. The club however remains ambitious, and keeps for objective to find the elite, being given five years to arrive there. The club announces even its quotation out of purse, in the objective of raising additional funds.
