The food agriculture is a form of Agriculture which consists in cultivating produced primarily intended to nourish the local population. The production is not intended for the exported Industrie nor , but it is mainly consumed by the Paysan S themselves and the local population. It often remains very present in the poor countries, with strong density of agricultural Active population, for example in the Indian Sous-continent; it is in that the form of the most widespread agriculture still today.
Food agriculture, aiming to the food self-sufficiency of the populations, is necessarily a form of mixed-farming often associated with the breeding.
This agricultre is made impossible in the extreme conditions, the such Siberian cold , the Aridité or of the too salted grounds.
Food agriculture is opposed to the industrial Agriculture, which delivers its Production like Raw material to processing industries industrial or food, and also to the commercial Agriculture, which are inserted in a system of marketing into the national scales and international, and supposes a Logistique adapted (Transport, silo S of storage…).
Although food agriculture is preached in the case of the developing countries, she is at the same time criticized, and this for several reasons. First of all, the DEVELOPING COUNTRIES are exposed to the climatic risks of manner more important than the countries known as " of Nord" , and the loss of their food crops can mean the total extinction of their agriculture. This is why the diversification of their agriculture is necessary.
Moreover, the food crop of the DEVELOPING COUNTRIES does not enable them to obtain foreign assets. In fact, they then consume the majority of their production, which prevents them from exporting products in the countries of north, and thus to obtain capital " surs" on the financial markets. While remaining attentive with the Dégradation of the terms of trade these countries must find the solution most adequate: only a capital in currencies the such dollar enables them to import the goods which they are for the moment incompetents to even produce them (cf transformed machine tools, goods, state-of-the-art technology, etc).
