Food Agency Standards

The Food Standards Agency is an government organization of the the United Kingdom responsible for the protection of the Public health with regard to the food. It is led by a committee having to act for the Public interest.

Its seat is located at London and it has offices in the three other large territories of the kingdom (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).

It was created in 2000 following a report/ratio of Professor James quoting a great number of dangerous diseases or mortals related to the food. This creation made it possible to separate the responsibilities for the old ministry which dealt at the same time of agriculture, the food industry and the safety of food, an association which could present risks on the independence of the decisions.
