Fontus

In the Roman Mythology, Fontus (also called Fons or Fontanus ) was the god of the sources and running water. He is the son of Janus and Juturne.

With Rome, a temple was dedicated to him to the north of the Capitole. The Romans celebrated this god the October 13rd at the time of Fontinales ( Fontanalia ); one threw crowns in the sources, crowned curbstone of the wells ( Of the Latin Language , Varron) and one offered drinkings in front of the Fontinale door in Rome.
