Fontenay (the Vosges)

Fontenay is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.

Geography

Nearer to Épinal (12 km) that from its chief town of canton Heathers (14 km), Fontenay benefits from its position a little to the variation of D420 to allure the amateurs of peace.

History

The creation of the common date of 1793.

Curiosities

  • Fontenay is a village where the greenery prevails, with in particular the forest of Ménil. Several houses are very old, one carries the date of 1705.
  • To the St. Lawrence church, rebuilt at the 19th century, one can admire a stone statue of the saint éponyme going back to 1575.
  • a basin-school of diving should open its doors with the autumn 2008. The project envisages a pit covered of 5 meters out of 15, with three stages, of 5,10 and 20 meters of depth.
