Fontan is a common French, located in the department of the the Alpes-Maritimes and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure. Its inhabitants is the Fontannais , in Italian is called Nostra Signora di Fontana.

Geography

History

During the Second world war, the totality of the civil population of the village was " déportée" by the German troops of occupation until Turin (Italy) between the month of December 1944 and April 1945.

This ignored episode of the conflict in the the Alpes-Maritimes was the subject of a Report of Control of Modern history written by Goulven Godon, prepared under the direction of Jean-Louis Panicacci, supported in front of the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis in June 2004 and entitled: " The " déportation" civil populations of the valleys of the Bévéra and Roya in Italy of North (1944-1945) ".
