Foissiat

Foissiat is a common French, located in the department of the Ain and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Its inhabitants is called Foissiatis.

Geography

History

A certain number of villages were little by little unified and pacified, and one finds about 1270, a Guillaume of FOISSIAT, having castle and poype. Then, until the revolution, the stronghold belonged to the County of Montrevel.
