Flyff

Fly For Fun (FlyFF) is a Roleplay on line massively multijouor (MMORPG) in 3D developed by the Korean company Official reception-Net and left officially in 2004. It is distributed free and no paying subscription is necessary to be connected on the official waiters, from where its name of " Free to play". However Flyff is financed by a shop available on the play (Cash Shop) where it is possible to buy various objects making it possible for example to personalize its character. Since September 2007 (version 9), this is not completely any more true: Not to resort to the " cash-shop" is to condemn its character to remain a second knife. A French translation of Flyff will be available during the summer 2007. The play proceeds in a fantastic Univers original, in which are côtoient monsters and human. The players have the possibility of incarnating a character whom they will have to make evolve/move and change class according to their choices. The characteristic of Flyff resides in its particular Gameplay: the players indeed have the possibility of flying on brushes or surfings starting from level 20, which radically changes usual experiment of play on this type of roleplay, while preserving some the standards.

Classes of characters

The system of Classes of character in Flyff approaches that of Ragnarok Online. The player with the possibility of incarnating a human character who will begin obligatorily his wandering tour as a . It then can, starting from the level (level) 15, to choose between one of the first classes available (to level 60, it will be able to specialize : it will choose a kind of subclass , there are two per class of them):

  • the Mercenary which fights with a sword and a shield, or an axe. The accessible specializations starting from level 60 are:
    • the knight which uses a long sword or axe with 2 hands
    • the assassin which uses two swords or two axes

  • the magician which fights with a rod and a shield or with a large stick
    • the elementalist which uses a large stick
    • the Sorcier which uses a rod and a shield

  • the Assistant, which is a Assistant which fights with a fist and a shield or uses a stick to temporarily improve the performances of the players (boosts or buffs)
    • the Prêtre which uses a stick
    • the Moine which uses the fist to fight

  • the Acrobat which fights with yoyos (boomerangs of round form) or with an arc
    • the Jester (means Farceur) which uses the yoyo
    • the Ranger (Archer means) which uses the arc

The player will have, to change class, to carry out a search specific to each class of character.

Skill S: Fates and Techniques

Each class lays out of different special Techniques, or competences, called skills , which can be used for attacking, launching a Sort or a Boost (buff)… The skills have also levels, which once increased improve their performances and their power. To assemble the skills, the skills gained points should be used to each time the character goes up of a level (or during its change of class).

The way of using the skills in Flyff is different from that of the majority of the MMORPG. There exist indeed various types of skills to the different uses:

  • General Skill
  • Step Skill
  • Circle Skill
  • Finish Skill
These various techniques can be used the ones following the others, thanks to the Slot Action. The skills are imbricated with the manner of a puzzle, thus Circle Skill will be always placed in medium of action, and the Skill Finish always marks the end of it (no skill can be added after him). These techniques can also be used independently by using the shortcut keys (energy of F1 with F9).

Anglophone waiters

There are currently 6 clusters (aggregates of waiters) official english-speaking: Kern , Aibatt , Glaphan , Lawolf , Mushpoie and Mia .
Puisque the French version was in the course of CBT (Closed Beta Test) and was thus not accessible to all the world, the French-speaking community was distributed in the 6 clusters anglophone. Since the beginning of September 2007, the French waiter Génèse was open (however, a great number of French placed in the anglophone waiters did not migrate, being given their advance in the play).
Dans each cluster, there are 4 waiters. For example: Lawolf 1-1 . Three waiters are normal, but 4th (1-4) is a waiter in mode km No, i.e. Player Killer, or " To kill out of Joueurs". On these waiters, it is possible to attack other players apart from the cities, or to be it oneself; what returns the style of different and captivating play for boldest. Great changes are likely to arrive at this level with the arrival of V8.

To play FlyFF, it is initially necessary to choose a cluster for its character (Lawolf, Aibatt…). It is then possible to go on the waiter of its choice to each connection (for example, Lawolf 1-2, Lawolf 1-3, Lawolf 1-4 km No). However, it is impossible for a character to change cluster (to pass from Lawolf to Aibatt for example).

Virtual shop

The virtual shop (or Cash Shop ) makes it possible to the players to use real money to obtain Gpotato points. They can make use of the latter to buy all kinds of objects: clothing, familiar, magic parchments, equipment. It is thanks to this shop that the play is financed. Some think that it is a good point of the play because there remains free and one can, incidentally, of improving, but others find that not to have recourse to the shop is not to have a good character: they also find that recently, the play tends towards the obligation of purchase to cash the shop. Pay for play ?

PvP rows

When you made challenges, your points of Pvp (player vs player = player against player) increase, which makes it possible to see concurrently to appearing a your pseudo mention between corchets. This mention changes according to the classes. each stage the name of the row has changes.

These rows are single has each class. (Magician, Mercenary, Acrobat, Assistant)

Gameplay

It is very simple to play, to move it is enough to click on the place quee you wants, attacks with the body with body required a double click on the monster (Ctrl + double click if it is a player but attetion with if you kill it) and to use a competence to put it in the bar of short cuts then to click above or use the key corespondante (CTRL + skill Pr to attack the players)

Fly in the skies!

As of level 20, you will be able to fly if you are provided with a brush or a flying board (buys itself at various prices according to top speed, or by carrying out a search during which you will manufacture your own flying machine). To be able to fly allows you:
  • more quickly to move you
  • to fight air monsters
  • to reach inaccessible places before without flying (flying islands, mountains…)
Note:: the title of the play Fly For Fun i.e. Voler for the fun comes from there
