Short summary of the history
15 years ago, Hadora, the King of the Evil, which terrorized the world with its hordes of monsters, was overcome by a large hero. Released from its evil spells, the monsters started again to live discreetly on an small island of the South Seas, the island of Demurin. It is on this island that Fly was high, by his/her adoptive grandfather Burasu.
Fly dreams to become a hero and to protect the island, whereas his/her grandfather wants at all costs that he is magus. But Fly is not gifted for the magic…
Unfortunately, the King of the Evil ressuscite, thanks to God of the Evil, and starts again to sow terror in the world. Fly is then formed with the techniques of combat per Master Aban, in order to demolish God of the Evil… But whereas its drive is hardly started, Aban is sacrificed to save its disciples of Hadora, the King of the Evil.
It is to avenge its memory that Fly will fight, helped by his/her friends, Poppu, Fuam, and others… Thus the great epopee of Dai begins…

List characters
Note: certain characters can appear in several categories. Moreover certain Japanese names were more or less deformed in the French adaptation. Thus, マァム (Maam) becomes Fuam, ザボエラ (will zaboera) becomes Saboera. The French version of the Anime was shown rather chaotic, especially with the names of the enemy generals who could change during the series; thus Myst was initially made call " Falkan" before being Ventor… and its true name of origin, Myst-Vearn, was even marked once towards the end in the form " Myst-Burn". The various variations, when they exist, appear in this order: manga VF/animates VF/manga VO.

Republication
January 10th, 2007, the Tonkam editions published the first volume of Quest Dragon - the Search of Daï. It is about a new French version of Dai No Daibouken. In the absence of new a manga Quest Dragon, Tonkam proposes to us editions neat of the work of Riku Sanjo and Koji Inada. Indeed, the edition of I have Lu comprised many mistranslations and its model was very approximate. If this new edition will thus not bring large thing to the owners of the old version, it will make it possible nevertheless to the younger readers to discover this monument of the shônen manga.
