Fluctuat.net is a Web site French of information and cultural current events which treats primarily fields of the Musique, Cinéma, scene, Visual arts, Internet and delivers.

Being defined itself as a Webzine of “art, culture, company, itching powder… ”, Fluctuat.net was founded in August 1998 by Alexandre Boucherot (today editor association of the site), François Haget and Cédric Tournay, shouldered originally by a voluntary team of Autodidacte S of the Journalisme and Web, impassioned culture and of Cyberculture. Asserting from now on an audience of more than 540.000 unique visitors per month (source Nielsen, July 2006), the initial team for summer has reinforced by professional journalists.

The site, primarily centered on a public francilien in its parts devoted to the exits, the exposures and the performing arts, draws its name from the currency of the town of Paris: Fluctuat nec mergitur , meaning It pitches but does not sink , the Analogie with navigation on the Web having constituted one of the reasons of the choice of this name.

At the traditional sides of headings devoted to the cultural topicality in the broad sense of the term, Fluctuat.net poses a particular glance on the topicality of the numerical creation. The site offers also the access to ludic media (plays, images, vidéos, etc), and publishes moreover eight different Blog S sets of themes, among which Aeiou (one the most consulted of in France, gold 2005 Clic in the category “Blogs pro”), Chamboultout (video games), Playlist (music), Sexe, coils and gaudriole (in which the écrivaine Maïa Mazaurette takes part), Millefeuilles (books) and Écrans (cinema).

The team of Fluctuat.net was on the initiative of the Meetings of the electronic review, which gather different editors in line, actors of the field of the electronic reviews and Blog ueurs.

At the end of March 2006, Fluctuat.net was repurchased, at the same time as its site of creation of Cartoons Gnomz, by the group Medcost, editor in particular of the Doctissimo site, which thus hopes to widen its positioning near an urban target, young and of higher socioprofessional categories.
