The teams of Gators take part in the university competitions organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Gators belong to division Southeastern Conference.

The most famous team of Gators is that of American football. She gained the national title in 1996 and 2006. She evolves/moves with the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, enclosure of 88.548 places. The team is so popular that the drives of spring attract more than 50.000 spectators at the stage.
