Florentino Ballesteros
Florentino Ballesteros Solsona , born the January 11th 1893 with Saragossa (Spain), died with Madrid (Spain) the April 24th 1917, was a Spanish Matador.
Presentation
He starts in the life as painter, then launches out in art taurin, attending the capeas in all the Aragon. In pareja (“even”) with so Aragonese “Herrerín”, him, it occurs like Novillero in Saragossa and in all the Aragonese plazas before presenting to Madrid the August 15th 1913, always in company of “Herrerín”, at the sides of “Saleri II” and “Petreño” vis-a-vis novillos of the Ganadería of López Plata.Its successes in 1914 and 1915 lead it to take the alternate in Madrid the April 13rd 1916 with like godfather “Joselito” and like witness Francisco Posada, vis-a-vis bulls of the ganadería of Santa Coloma.
He was regarded by his contemporaries as a matador fine and full with personality, and had been high with the row of idol by his Aragonese compatriots.
The April 22nd 1917, in the Arenas of Madrid, it is seriously wounded by the bull “Cocinero” of the ganadería of Benjumea. He dies in Madrid two days later.
