Florent Ruppert

Florent Ruppert is an author of Cartoon French. He works with Jerome Mulot.

Biography

Jerome Mulot and Florent Ruppert meet with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of arts of Dijon. They create the fanzine LED Ventures , that they distribute in festival, and that Killoffer notices. Already, they developed their work method: Each one takes part in the drawing and the scenario. The stories are graphic dialogs between the two authors.

They are published in alternative reviews with small diffusion ( Black Bile , the new newspaper of Judith and Marinette ) in 2004. Jean-Christophe Menu, filled with enthusiasm by the boards published in Ferraille Illustrated n°26, in January 2005, proposes to them to work with Association. Safari Monseigneur , appeared in the collection Ciboulette at the end of 2005 grants a broader audience to them. Their work, which proposes an new approach of the narration and cutting, in particular by the use of the “tree structure” (vertical series of phylactères alternate) and of the improvisation, receives very warm welcome, as the price to them “Revelation testifies” granted to Panier to Monkey to the Festival of Angouleme 2007.

Consequently, Ruppert and Mulot belong to the team of Association, participant in the Test-tube (in the first number of which they reveal their original method of dedication), Lapin , and outgoing in this editor two other albums in 2006.
