Florent Marchet

Florent Marchet is a singer French, born in the Berry in the Années 1970.

Biography

He learns the Piano at the five years age. Its beginnings go back to 1996, when it alternates piano-bars, Irish music, concerts with its songs on small scenes. It is during this period that he learns the use of a great number of instruments, like the Guitare, the low , or the Accordéon.

In 2001, it is locked up in its apartment with Montreuil, with two guitars, a piano, and a Ordinateur, to write its first true songs. In 2002, it appears on compilation C.Q.F.D. of the Inrocks. It signs the same year a contract in an editor. The following year, it signs on a label, and it is at this time that it calls upon François Poggio (guitarist and multi-instrumentalist), Pete Thomas and Charlie Poggio.

Its first album has as a title Gargilesse , according to the name of a village of the Berry where it was going to walk with his parents in his childhood. It was recorded at two places: in Belgium, with studio ICP, and Gargilesse even. He imagines over there copper partitions, winds and cords which come to color the album. He records also batteries, of the old pianos and guitars. The album is mixed by Stephan Prin with the Davout studio with Paris and leaves the May 11th 2004. Florent Marchet then made a round everywhere in France which in particular took it along to the Festival of the Old Plow in 2005.

Its second album Rio Baril appears on January 8th, 2007. Y take part Erik Arnaud, Philippe Katerine, Dominique has, Jasmin Vegas or of a whole of cords of Sofia (Bulgaria). It is a Album-concept, telling a history. A round is envisaged where will accompany it Erik Arnaud (low, guitar), François Poggio (guitar, low, piano, violin) and Frederic Poilon (violin and trumpet). Rio Baril will be worth to him to be nominated with the Prix Constantin at the end of 2007.
