Florencia
Florencia is a city of the south of the Colombia, chief town of the department of Caquetá. Its coordinates are 01° 36 ' NR and 75° 36 ' O.
It was founded on December 25th 1902 by missionaries capuchins, to 560 m of altitude to the foot of the Orientale cordillera in the the Andes, in a hot and wet area belonging to the Amazonian basin. It reaches in 2002 a population of 138.500 inhabitants against 96.247 listed in 1993.
Its centers of cultural and tourist interest are the ethnographic museum of Caquetá, the indigenous center, the archeological site El Encanto and the rivers Hacha and Bodoquero.
