Floral Part
The floral parts are the various parts of the Fleur, reproductive organ of the Angiospermes. The principal floral parts are:
- the Sepal S (the unit constitutes the chalice),
- the Pétale S (the unit constitutes the corolla),
- the cheesecloth S (the unit constitutes androcée),
- the Carpelle S (the unit constitutes gynécée).
- the floral Stalk,
- the Bractée S,
Various floral parts
One finds two types of floral parts: sterile parts and fertile parts.
- the sterile parts include/understand the stalk, bractée (or bractées) and the perianth. The perianth (of the Greek: perished = around and anthos = flower) is consisted of the sepals and the petals.
The stalk defines the axis of the flower.
The whole of the sepals constitutes the often green chalice They is the most external parts and protects the flowers in button.
The petals form the corolla very often coloured.
Note: if the sepals and the petals are identical, they are called then tepals as for the Tulip.
If the petals (respectively sepals) are free between them, one speaks about dialypétalie (example: the flower of Pepper) (respectively dialysépalie) and if they are welded, there is gamopétalie (example: the Bellflower) (respectively gamosépalie).
