Floral Induction
The floral induction is the botanical phenomenon which makes that a Bourgeon with sheet evolves/moves in button with flower under the action of external elements, like the cold (Vernalisation), the temperature (Thermopériodisme), the length of the day (Photopériode) or the dryness.
The factors Trophique S also play a big role. When the food of the plant is rich in Azote, one supports the vegetative development whereas a food rich in Carbone supports floral induction. If the Rapport C/N is higher than 20, flowering is supported. In lower part, one inhibits it.
There is thus competition between the vegetative growth and the development of reproductive body. For this reason one cuts the Fruit trees, one removes the vegetative buttons for better feeding the floral buttons.
At the Citrus fruits S, a reduction of watering supports floral induction.
At the annual plants, floral induction is also the beginning of the Sénescence.
Products of control of floral induction
- Gibbérelline (Ga): Hormone S the most implied in the control of flowering
- Cytokinine S (Ck): hormone applied to low dose, they often have a stimulative effect
- Auxine: it is almost always inhibiting of flowering, idem for the abscissic Acide.
- the ethylene according to the plants stimulates or inhibits the setting with flower
