Context
Left in 1968, Vol 714 for Sydney wanted to be a certain return to the adventure. However, Hergé continues there the redefinition of its universe, but this time, it is with “malicious” that it is attacked, making them passably ridiculous. With Objective the Moon , One went on the Moon , the Business Sunflower and the mysterious Star , Vol 714 for Sydney is one of the albums of concerning Tintin the Science-fiction - perhaps even more marked (the two albums " lunaires" are more close to the Prospective or traditional anticipation; the business Tournesol enters almost the kind of the spy novel ).
Anecdote
In spite of very many requests of its admirors, Hergé a long time refused to represent one of them in an adventure of Tintin. Vol 714 for Sydney makes exception to this rule. Indeed, Hergé, moved by a letter by a reader, agreed to represent it under the features of the journalist who questions Tintin and his companions at the end of the album. To compose the character of Lazlo Carreidas, Hergé freely took as a starting point the industrialist Marcel Dassault, as well as rich person Businessman and aviator Howard Hughes as for hygienic obsession and the scorn of which it is proof by meeting the Haddock captain all while being inspired of the name by old Mexican president Lazaro Cardenas.
Bob de Moor reveals us the real aspect of the inhabitants of the flying saucer in the book of Philippe Goddin " The Adventure of the Tintin Newspaper, 40 years of bands dessinées" , with the ED. of Lombard, in 1986, with the very last board (n°60) of a Space-time Account illustrated by the whole of the draftsmen of the newspaper, or Mysterious Adventures and Rocambolesques of the Space Agent , appeared the same year in the Newspaper of Tintin n°23. See appearance " exacte" the extraterrestrial ones.
