Flexanville

Flexanville is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Geography

The commune is located in the central part of the department of Yvelines at approximately 35 kilometers at the west of Versailles, about thirty kilometers in the north of the Rambouillet sub-prefecture and a dozen kilometers in the North-West of the chief town of canton, Montfort-l' Amaury.

The communal territory of Flexanville consists of an extent little raised, in light declivity of north towards the south and primarily devoted to agriculture.

In addition to the borough itself, the habitat is distributed in two variations little moved away, the hamlet of Tessé in the east on the road of Villiers-le-Mahieu and that of Ferranville in north in direction of Goupillières.

The communes bordering are Goupillières in the North-East, Villiers-le-Mahieu in the east, Garancières in south-east, Béhoust in south-west, Orgerus on approximately 800 meters with the west-south-west, Osmoy in the west and Saint-Martin-of-Fields in the North-West.

The number of inhabitants slightly evolved/moved since the years 1980, passing from an almost constant population between 300 and 350 people during the XXe century with a little more than 500 in 1999.

Economy

The common one has a primarily rural vocation. The population is before very residential made up people working apart from the commune.

Places and monuments

The church contains a polychrome wood sculpture dating from XVIe century representing the lamentation of Christ surrounded of the Virgin, holy Jean, holy Marie-madeleine and holy Joseph d' Arimathie  ; work is classified with the inventory of the Historic buildings since 1994.

Practical life

The village is crossed by the secondary road 45 which leads to the North-East to Villiers-le-Mahieu, Thoiry and Maule and in south-east with Orgerus.

In the railway plan, the station the SNCF nearest is, with approximately four kilometers of the village, the Gare of Orgerus - Béhoust on the line Transilien Paris-Montparnasse - Dreux.
