History
In the middle of the forest of Halatte, Fleurines finds its origin with the Hermenc mount (Villa nominates of the same Hermenc root than hermit) where small abbey was dedicated to Saint-Christophe. The permanence of the human presence in these places goes up about year 875. Fleurines is the extension of this hamlet and draws its name from Latin Figula, pottery. It appears only at the 11th century in the Latinized form Florinas. Until the Revolution, it was under domination of the priors of Saint-Christophe who exerted high justice. The kings of the 1st dynasty had kennels with Fleurines and a residence with Saint-Christophe where remained king III of England. It is with Saint-Christophe that king Jean established the Order of Star on November 6th, 1351. The main activity of the village was the manufacture of Tuile S. One hoped 14 baking ovens the tiles in 1837; the last one ceased cooking in 1928. One listed 720 inhabitants in 1720. Fleurines is crossed of Is in West by an old Gallic way and of North in South by the main road 17 which in the beginning passed more the West of the village.
