Flax Yao

Lin Yao is a character of the Manga Fullmetal alchemist. Contrary to much of characters, it appears only in the manga and is used amongst other things as catalyst of the account after the death of Greed. It is rather frequent to see calling it Ling Yao , the two sounds are similar in Japanese.

Flax Yao is it twelfth wire of Emperor of Xing (knowing that the Emperor has in all 24 wire and 19 girls), it is thus one of the crown princes to this Empire. It came in Amestris whereas his/her father is mourrant and that the battle for the succession began, in order to find the secrecy of the eternal life or something approaching some. The purpose of it is thus to bring a little joy to the Emperor and thus, to improve the image of its clan, consequently occasion. It will take then its place by its own means. It is posed more or less like rival of the Elric brothers, since they seek the same thing. However, even at the beginning where them relations are tended, it is not question of competition mortal.

It is permanently accompanied by two by its servants: Ranfan and the grandfather of this one, Who. Then it will be accompanied more only by Ranfan, Who having set out again with Xing in order to carry out the Second lieutenant Ross to it. Flax will be imprisoned for clandestine immigration at the same time as Maria Ross (where it will carry the number W 1582 ) and will be released by 66 by proposing its assistance to him.

If it seems being a relaxed and carefree character, Lin is not less one very gifted combatant, competing with the sword with Wrath (this being in party of with the old age of this one)!!! If Ranfan and Who swore a honesty without similar to him (Ranfan will go all the same until slicing its arm wounded to enable them to escape), Lin also is very attached to its servants, refusing to give up Ranfan with Wrath, the combatant of an arm by holding it of the other. For Flax, a sovereign is not somebody who is simply to arrive at the capacity by unspecified means, it is especially somebody who has the support of his people.

He with the characteristic, just like Ranfan and Who, to feel the presence of the homonculus (except that of Wrath which is a particular case because not creates directly by Father. It is partly thanks to that and with its agility that it will succeed in capturing Gluttony .

After having captured Glutonny, Homonculus will show its true forms when he is confronted with Mustang. Flax, ED et al. will fight vis-a-vis Homonculus which will be assisted to him of Envy. Edward Flax and Envy will finish “eaten” by Glutonny and will be in “another dimension”. The three will thus be combined to be left there (but not before Envy is released its true form and is tried to eat them). they will thus be done “recrachés” by Glutonny, which had during this moment accompanied Alphonse to see Father. Father will order in Gluttony to kill Lin, only useless trio for the sacrifice, but seeing its eagerness and its combattivity fâce in Homunculus, it will decide to change plan.

Father, neutralizing Lin then used the Philosopher's stone, whom it had recovered of Greed, to recreate Homunculus missing in the septuor. Flax, far from being horrified by this suggestion accepted highly, him which had come to seek the Philosopher's stone, one proposed to him of him established directly! Greed thus took the body of Flax appreciating the spirit of this last: a covetous being for Homunculus related to avarice, a perfect combination!

If new Greed (which with the passage lost all the memory of old Greed) claims that Lin definitively died, it is far from being true, Lin is always present in Homunculus and reappears punctually, but that does not appear géner new the landlord (this is particularly visible when Greed is contracted and becomes directly serious when ED mentions Ranfan, or during its dialog with Wrath). New Greed is changed finally rather little, only appearance at modified summer, since old Greed about as was relaxed and préocuppé by the fate of his/her comrades as Lin. Just like the precedent Greed, this one is posed more or less in neutral (although according to the orders of Father, giving of information to the Elric brothers.

Flax/Greed then made only short appearances, but one recently saw it at the side of Pride in company of Father.

Flax made Caméo in animates, it indeed has the appearance of an alchemist at the side of Mustang in Flashback de Tim Marcoh, in episode 15. Its haircut is not the same one.
