Around film

  • Although its scenario is relatively agreed, Flashdance is regarded as traditional Années 1980. Certain scenes, like that of the first choreography of Alex or that of hearing, were taken again many times in various films or musical clips.

  • the original soundtrack also became traditional, in particular the song, What has Feeling , interpreted by Irene Cara. The B.O was sold with 700.000 specimens in the two weeks which followed the exit of film to the United States.
  • For all the scenes of dance, Jennifer Beals was doubled by Marine Jahan, a French dancer, except for the scene of final hearing where, apart from the scenes of dance carried out by Marine, it is Sharon Shapiro which flies in the airs, and Crazy Legs (a man) which carries out the Break dance for the spinning top on the ground.
  • In order to find the actress who would interpret the role of Alex, a national casting was organized. The three finalists were Jennifer Beals, Lesley Wing and Demi Moore.
  • Sunny Johnson, which plays the part of Jeanie Szabo , died the following year of an aneurysmal rupture whereas it was only 30 years old.
