Pierre d' Haudroy:
It is one of the most outstanding events of the First World War which was held in Pierre d' Haudroy, place located on the road connecting Wignehies with Capelle.
November 7th, 1918, avant-garde of the French Army, in its victorious projection, made halt with the " Pierre d' Haudroy".
Waited 16:00, it is finally with 20:20 until the German members of Parliament present to the 1st battalion 171e regiment of infantry of Belfort to negotiate the conditions of the armistice.
They raised a white flag, which they had made in Fourmies where they were restaurésà the assistance of a bamboo and a piece of cloth.
It is the corporal-bugle Pierre Sellier, originating in Beaucourt (close to Belfort) which, climbed on the market foot of the first German car, will open the road with the convoy by playing the " cease the feu" with the bugle.
The officer who receives the General von Winterfeld is the captain Lhuillier, commander of this battalion.

A granite monument of the Vosges will be high on this site and inaugurated on November 5th, 1925.
Since this date until its death in 1948, the Sellier bugle will sound each year the " on the spot; Cease the feu" in commemoration.
The monument was dynamited by German on August 14th, 1940 then rebuilt and inaugurated again on November 14th, 1948.
The central stone used to rebuild the monument was brought back by Ernest Gernez of the building site of Ravenna Brücke in Germany.
