“ Flagship ” is the term Militaire indicating the Navire Naval officer to the rank highest high of the Flotte. The Admiral being the highest rank. The habit wants that this ship beats a distinctive house making it easily recognizable of its fleet.

This term is a provisional designation not attached to a single boat, however, it generally indicates the most imposing boat or fastest because it is often that chosen by the Admiral.

By extension, the Merchant navy thus calls the most media ship or emblématique of a Armateur. Example: the flagship of MSC Croisières is the MSC Orchestra
