Flag of Zambia
Adoptee the October 24th 1964, the Drapeau of the Zambia is composed of a field Vert vertical decorated in the third opposed to the chechmate with a eagle with the éployées wings surmounting three vertical bands black Rouge (left), , and orange. In 1996, the green became darker than that employed in the beginning.
The green represents agriculture, the red the fight for independence, the black the people, and it orange the mining resources, in particular the Cuivre whose Zambia is one of the principal world producers. The red, the black and orange are to it also the colors of United National Independence Party, the party which fought for independence and seized the power in 1964 pennies the direction of Kenneth Kaunda. The eagle belongs to national armorial bearings.
The flag was drawn by Mrs. Gabriel Ellison, which worked out also the armorial bearings and of many Zambian stamps.
