Flag of Nunavut

The flag of Nunavut was proclaimed on April 1st 1999, at the same time as the creation of the territory of Nunavut (Canada).

It shows a red Inukshuk - a directional reference mark inuit - and a blue star, which represents at the same time Niqirtsuituq, the pole star, and the leadership of the leaders of the community. The colors represent the richnesses of the ground, the sea and the sky.
