Flag of Nepal

The Drapeau of the Nepal is one of the rare national flags which is not rectangular. It was adopted the December 16th 1962 and is one of the only flags whose legal definition does not aim a rectangle (among other examples, to see the Swiss Drapeau, square or that of the state of the Ohio).

The two triangles represent the the Himalayas as well as the Bouddhisme and the Hindouisme. The sun and the moon symbolize the families of the kings and the Prime Ministers. For the Hindus, the triangle represents Dharma (moral law, religious virtue and sacred duties). The Rouge carmine is the national color of the Nepal, opposed to the Blanc and Noir, it symbolizes the Mort. The Nepalese flag is also regarded as a support of prayers - indeed, the moon and the sun are symbolically present in all Mantras: “makes that the prosperous Nation and lives, as a long time as the sun and the moon will be present at the firmament”.
