Flag of Brunei
The flag of the Brunei was adopted since 1959 whereas the country was only a Protectorat the United Kingdom. It will be official flag on January 1st 1984 when the country was independent.
The flag is made up of a yellow bottom, traditional symbol of royalty which come to bar from left to right a black diagonal band and a white diagonal. Those are not finally parallelograms but many Trapèze S because the relationship between the right-sided and left is of 13% (19,05cm against 21,59cm).
In the center is represented in red the Cimier of Brunei which is composed of:
- a Parasol ( Payung Ubor-Ubor ) surmounted of a flag ( Bendera ), which incarnates the royal capacity.
- Two wings ( Sayab ) with four feathers each one which represents the protection of justice, peace, prosperity and peace.
- In lower part, a growing to point out the Islam with the national currency " Always with the service with the assistance of Dieu" registered inside.
- In bottom, a Ribbon where one can read in Arabic " Brunei Darusalem" meaning in Malayan " Brunei, asylum of paix"
- a Hand ( Tangan or Kimhap ) of each dimensioned, which personifies the engagement of the government to promote serenity, peace and prosperity.
