Flacourt

Flacourt is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called Flacourtois.

Geography

The commune of Flacourt is to approximately 12 km in the south of Mantes-the-Pretty in the plate of the Mantois to approximately 130 m of altitude.

The relatively flat communal territory is little timbered, except the north-eastern part included in Pihan wood, and is devoted to the cereal field crop.

The commune is bordering on Boinvilliers and Vert in the east, the Hillock-Saint-Denis in the west, Dammartin-in-Serf in the south, Favrieux and Soindres in north.

She is served by the departmental roadway system and in particular by the road D 928 which connects Mantes-the-Pretty to Dreux via Anet.

History

The village of Flacourt was set up in commune in 1801.

Culture

  • Saint-Clearly Church: church hones some with square bell-tower-porch dating from XIIIe century, rebuilt in 1877. Restored in 1997.
In this church two are tomb stones of the family of Morainvilliers lords of Flacourt towards XVe and XVIe century.
  • Bridge-Pack-Horse: old bridge with only one arch crossing the ravine of the same name on the old way of Mantes-the-Pretty with Dammartin-in-Serf.
